“It is said that the mind screams and the heart whispers. Over time we have lost touch with the wisdom of the heart in our efforts to manage the demands of our screaming minds.” ~Rolf Gates
Truth bumps. I hear so much truth in these lines. I hear that if I learn to listen to the whispers of my heart, I don’t have to be trapped in the screaming of my mind.
Same with the body. If I learn to listen to the whispers of my body, maybe it won’t have to scream.
Today, as we begin week two, sitting, breathing, aware that we are sitting and breathing, let’s begin to listen to the whispers of our heart. That is where true intention lies. If our intention comes from our mind, it’s likely to come from a place of thought, planning, assessing, obsessing, analyzing, over analyzing, worry, etc.
Do you want your life’s intentions to come from there? Or would you rather be guided from a quiet place deep within you…a place of wisdom, a place of compassion, a place of truth?
Today as we sit, we will listen. Your heart knows the way.
And now the practice of yoga begins…
Namaste.
