Rolf Gates tells the story of when his son was young, he used to carry him in front packs as he would go about his day. He shares how they were so close they could feel each others’ heartbeats. He goes on to say, “sitting and breathing is like that for me; resting my heart in life’s heart and learning to let go”
Day 7. One week of sitting and breathing and noticing.
Has anything shifted?
Have you noticed that we really haven’t talked about Intention much, in this 30-Day Intention program? I’m certain some of you came here looking for goal setting, go-getting, intention creating magic. And for seven days I’ve simply asked you to sit. And breathe. And notice. So what’s the deal? Where is the Intention?
It’s in the sitting, and breathing, and noticing.
You, my friend already have all of the answers. You are your own best teacher. Your heartbeat, your breath, your life’s experience are right here as your best guides. The problem is, you (WE!) have been so busy running around looking for answers, and solutions, and resolutions, that we have forgotten that it’s all. right. here. now.
Week two of this program is about remembering. But today, we rest. Today’s meditation is longer, and can be done anytime, but is an especially great practice for just before bed.
Resting my heart in life’s heart, learning to let go.
And now the practice of yoga begins…
Namaste.
