My Grandma used to say “We all have a God shaped hole in our hearts. And we spend our lives trying to fill it up.”
We run. We power through our yoga. We stay busy. We drink. We eat. We spend. We stare at our devices. We look for love out there. We even start to chase the moments of peace we find on our mats or meditation cushions like it’s something we need more of. And it too can become just another thing out there that we need in order to be happy.
So try this on. There is no out there…out there.
Maybe you don’t need to do one hour of #yogaeverydamnday, and maybe your meditation practice is not perfect and maybe your house is not clean and maybe and maybe your kids don’t have straight A’s and maybe you weigh five pounds more and maybe…ugh. It’s exhausting isn’t it?
Maybe what you need to do is to stop. Maybe it’s all perfect now. Maybe everything you need to be happy is contained in this breath. And this breath. And this breath.
And yes I am definitely talking to myself here. Thank you for listening in. Thank you for being here with me as I am reminded again, of the perfectly imperfect gift that this moment is.
And now the practice of yoga begins…
Namaste.
