“Self-care is never a selfish act—it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer to others.” ~Parker Palmer
It’s true. I can only give love to you if I know love for myself. I am incapable of loving anyone else unless I first know self-love. So this work of going inside, and learning to love ourselves, is truly the MOST selfless thing we can do.
Seriously, nothing is more important than a healthy love for yourself. This program is asking you to slow down, get quiet, and look within. In the space you find there, you are meeting your true self. You are seeing the person beneath the layers. And that person is Ah-freakin-mazing. And when we get a glimpse of the amazingness of ourselves, we can start to see amazingness in others.
Today’s meditation invites you to visualize a person you would like to create a deeper relationship with. For extra credit, you can do this meditation with them.
Just for fun…let’s all spend a day seeing the best in ourselves, and in others.
And now the practice of yoga begins…
Namaste.
