If you think about it, no one really taught you to walk. You didn’t have the language to understand heel strike, roll through the foot, balance, opposite arm swing, engage your core. There were likely people around you to walk from, and walk to, or like my son, there was a wonderful yellow lab named Louie who patiently stood while Jackson held onto his back, and took his first steps.
This 30-Day program is like that. You have probably noticed this is light on instruction. I’m not interested in (or even able to) teach you HOW to Live on Purpose. I can’t create your Intention, or give you the handbook of Effortless Living. What I can do, is ask you to trust.
Trust that just as you took those precious first steps, after a few falls and tears, you learned to hold yourself up. You began to find freedom and independence. Your feet got stronger, and the ground got less shaky. You became aware of a whole new world, that didn’t exist when you were safely sitting on your diaper. Maybe people cheered, maybe it was a quiet and private victory. But you walked.
Trust that your truest truths…your deepest Intentions, your keys to living a life of purpose and passion are just below the surface. And when the surface is choppy it’s hard to see through. So we sit…and we breathe…and we wait for the waters to settle. And then we see clearly below the surface to the beauty below.
Today’s meditation is a walking meditation. Plan to be outdoors for about 10 minutes (or more if you like). If it’s not possible for you to walk today, you can sit and visualize walking.
And now the practice of yoga begins…
Namaste.
